Just about 2 years since our founders left Portland, Fabric is coming home!
Portland is wonderfully human, quirky, and caring in a way that not every place is.
Portland is home. Or it was for the four years my co-founder Steven and I lived there as part of the team that made banking beautiful with Simple. We moved to New York - the financial capital of the world - to re-invent life insurance for families like ours. But a big part of our hearts remains in PDX.
Wunderland, Cascade Barrel Brewing, Coava Coffee, Bluestar and Pip’s; New York claims to have it all, but it doesn’t have those.
It’s hard not to yearn for New Season’s wide aisles when shimmying through our tiny local bodega. And Portland’s compassion is something that we’ve kept with us as one of Fabric’s five values: Compassion, Simplicity, Joy, Velocity, and Exploration. It’s everything life insurance should be but hasn’t been. Fabric is changing that.
For parents like us who’ve thought about life insurance but were put off by the agents, intimidated by the jargon, or couldn’t bear the thought of fitting a weeks-long process into an already activity-packed schedule, Fabric will come as a relief.
We’re excited to share Fabric with you because it was you, our Portland friends, family, and neighbors who helped inspire it. Much love to Portland and our friends at Simple.
We can’t wait to hear what you think. Check it out.
