Fact: Once your kid develops a taste for the kind of food that can be delivered from a drive-through window, home-cooked meals will never look the same.
We hunted down recipes for some of our favorite fast-food treats so you make you can make look-alikes in your very own kitchen. Smart, right?
1 -The Home McMuffin
When nothing but the McMuffin will do, this recipe promises an authentic alternative at your own breakfast table in 10 minutes or less.
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Difficulty: 2/10 - If you can crack an egg, you can get this on the table!
Kitchen Tip: Use a clean tuna can to create the perfect circular egg shape, and wrap the finished product in foil for a few minutes before serving to steam the muffin for a truly authentic “McMuffin.”
Kid Verdict: Our pint-sized taste testers loved these breakfast sandwiches! Parents loved the ease of cooking and ability to easily create different combinations to please even the pickiest eaters.

2 - Easy (and just as cheesy) TGIF Mozzarella Sticks
What can top mozzarella sticks? How about a slightly healthier baked version with all of the crunch and half the mess (and calories) of the fried version?
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Kitchen Tip: Freezing the “string” cheese prior to baking maximizes browning time and minimizes over-melting.
Kid Verdict: While some tasters missed the crunchy exterior of the deep-fried variety, no one could argue that these were almost as good, just as cheesy, and way less greasy.

3 - Copycat Chick-Fil-A Nuggets with Dipping Sauce
What kid doesn’t love these lightly breaded chicken nuggets? As it turns out, you can create a crunchy nugget with a great dipping sauce in about an hour (and even on a Sunday, when this popular chain is closed!).
Cook Time: 1 hour (including 30 minutes to brine the nuggets)
Difficulty: 5/10 (Frying could be considered an advanced skill)
Kitchen Tip: While the pickle-juice brine seems a little odd, trust us, it’s worth the added step!
Kid Verdict: Tasters agreed, these are just as good as the “real deal.” While an hour may seem like a long wait for nuggets, half of that time is spent marinating the chicken (read: hands off) and the whole family can help bread these nuggets to speed up the process.
